Hi & Welcome.

I am Jessica, the girl behind JET+BLACK. My initials spell out JET, so ever since I was born my family and close friends call me Jet. Which is how I came up with my blog name. Original no?

I am engaged to the most amazing person ever and we're planning to marry in 2014. Yayyy! (in O.C. Lydia's voice) 

My fiancé's name is Justin and he's 8 years older than me. Not sure why I told you that. He is by far my better half. I can't picture my life without him and he's totally my best friend. For realz. Until I met Justin I never wanted to marry or have kids, but he has definitely changed my mind. Which freaks me out a little. Funny how that happens. We're parents to two doggers. One grandpa pit bull (Kazmire) and one kiddo scruffy homeless looking dog (Brady). You can guess who is whose. Whose is whose? Whose is who? Que? I don't know. You get it.

 

Justin and I met in Mexico one summer when I came home from college. I wasn't looking for him ( I was actually dating someone else at the time...scandalous!), but he stole my heart and recruited me back to my hometown after college graduation. We did the long distance thing for almost 2 years. Holy balls it sucked at times. Him in Arizona while I was in Texas. Difficult at times, but we made it work because we love each other like that.

Speaking of college, I graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in Business in 2010. Go Eagles! Go Mean Green! So proud of that. I never thought I would be a 4 year degree holder, but here I am! Now that I've been out in the workforce for 3 years I've realized my passion for medicine. (And also realized that my degree can't find me a decent job in this town). Which is why I'm headed back to school once again for Radiologic Technology.

And this brings me to the reason for my blog. I've realized between wedding planning, school, and work my mind is a huge jumble of stuff. I need a place to not only organize those thoughts, but also clear my head and relax for a moment and talk about random shiz.
